Check out the newly formed Columbia Kindness Crew performing acts of kindness and service. They helped to repair some flower beds around the school and shared some kind notes to cars parked in the parking lots. Way to LEAD the Voyage, Kindness Crew!

Congratulations to Columbia's own Mrs Hess. She was selected by the district as a Teacher Leader as part of the #LeadFromtheClassroom initiative. She was presented a gift and recognition for her achievements in the classroom.

Congratulations to all of Columbia Elementary's Reflections participants and award winners. The students were treated to an awards luncheon today in the library.

Congratulations to 5th grade and Mrs. Moncur's class! They were the Recess Voyager Points winners for the month of October.

Halloween staff fun at Columbia Elementary. If you can't tell, Disney was the theme. 😊

Congratulations to Myka G. She was the lucky attendance winner from first term. We had 144 students with no tardies or absences and she was randomly selected from that group for the grand prize. Keep up the good attendance, Voyagers!

Have some spooktacular fun trying to guess the Columbia school employee behind the Boo Mask.

Look who won the most Recess Voyager Points for the month of September! It's Mrs. Beckstead's 3rd grade class. Way to LEAD!

September is Suicide Prevention Month. Check out these available resources.

Attendance Matters at Columbia Elementary!
When a student misses just two days of school a month, they will miss...
20 days a year, 30 hours of math a year, 60 hours of reading a year, close to a year of school by 12th grade graduation.
It's important to come to school! Try to have your student to school every day!

Way to LEAD, Voyagers! Look who's leading with Recess Voyager Points this week.
The faculty and staff of Columbia Elementary want to welcome back all Voyagers as we start the 2025-26 school year!

Welcome to August! The start of school is only a few weeks away. Here is some information to keep you in the know.
- Kindergarten testing is taking place on Thursday, 07 AUG, and Friday, 08 AUG. Kindergarten parents should have received an email with a link to sign up for a testing slot. If your student is not available to test on those two days, please reach out to the office to schedule a time for the following week.
- Class lists will be posted to your MyDSD account on Friday, 08 AUG 2025. You should be able to see your child's teacher at that point. Please use your MyDSD as the official listing as changes to classes may still take place.
- Back-to-School Night will be 14 AUG 2025 from 5:00-6:30. This will be an open house format, so you are welcome to go in and out of classrooms throughout the open house to see the teachers and the classrooms. The PTA will also have a food truck available is you would like to grab some food in the process.
- The First Day of School for grades 1-6 will be on Monday, 18 AUG 2025. Parents are welcome to walk their students to their classrooms on the first day. This will also be an early dismissal day with the students leaving at 1:30 PM. Kindergarten students will have their first day on Wednesday, 20 AUG 2025. Kindergarten students will also have early dismissal for remainder of the week.
We're looking forward to seeing everyone again in a few weeks! Enjoy the last bit of summer!

Just because it's summer doesn't mean teachers stop learning. Check out these Columbia teachers getting their professional development on at the annual DSD R&R Conference. 😊

Congratulations to Columbia's Decathlon teams. They performed quite well at the district competition. Fourth graders placed 2nd overall. Fifth graders placed 3rd overall. Sixth graders took 2nd overall. Way to represent, Voyagers!

Thank you to everyone that donated to our Student Council Cereal Drive. We were able to collect 579 boxes of various cereals to donate to the Davis High Teen Center. We had a little fun with the collected boxes and made a long domino chain for the whole school to see. 😊

Congrats to Columbia Elementary for being recognized as a Positive Behavior School by Davis School District!

Columbia Elementary would like to congratulate Halyn V. on placing 3rd overall in the Davis District Spelling Bee. She competed against 49 other students throughout the district and made it all the way to the final three. Way to go, Halyn!!
